Weekend – Long wait for a short break

Girl

Hello Everyone
How is your weekend?
Mine is very good but very fast.

I’d Love My Weekend to be like this….

  • Wake up at 10 A.M
  • Have a light breakfast, complemented by a coffee
  • Spend some time with my mom – talk to her, tease her, fight with her, play caroms, cards, ;) with her, etc
  • Have a heavy lunch with Sunday Special dishes
  • Have a sound sleep for 3-4 hours
  • Wake up at around 5.30 P.M
  • Have a strong tea with some snacks
  • Go for the evening walk in the cool breeze
  • Come home, Watch television
  • Spend some time with my sisters and their children
  • Have dinner around 9:30PM and then go to bed

This is what will give me utmost satisfaction of having a very great weekend. Seldom do I spend my weekend this way :(

I wonder how the clock ticks on so fast during weekends. Working for all the six days for more than 10hrs a day in the office without rest, relaxation (to mind), and most importantly hardly any time to spend with family, I believe, every one will look for the weekend to come and plan for better time to spend with his/her family and friends.

Every Sunday, I think of keeping myself away from all the other matters (office works / personal snags) and have a sound sleep atleast for two hours on Sunday after a heavy meal. (Sunday’s meal is so special for me as I make a point to have my favourite non-veg dishes). Ironically, I get engaged in some or the other work and hardly find time to sleep (barring a few Sundays). I would be caught up with some thing or the other and by the time I realise the sleeping hour had passed by, it would around 5PM and that is the tea time. Then I start thinking about the next six days of working :( , which makes me feel sad that the weekend was hectic without any rest.

Again the routine week with full of work… With plans for next weekend…

Looking forward for good weekends to fall in my way.

  1. Ramakrishna Says:

Weekend worries are common for almost everyone. No matter how well you plan, there is a possibility of some tasks or issues that turn up suddenly. Instead of dreaming about having long sleeping hours on Sundays, make sure your mind and body have enough time to rest which will help you in refreshing yourself a bit from the routine. Anyway I wish your weekend worries are solved soon.

I am very lucky in this aspect. I wake up early in the morning. Play cricket all out for 3-4 hours, bathe and and chat with grand pa and grand ma. Help her in cooking. Eat and sleep for an hour, bring a DVD or go for a movie and njoy with friends till late night.

This is what I call fulto enjoy. Hope you too get such weekends.

    BTW nice post.

  3. pramodasanthi Says:

@ Ram Thanks for your wish for me. I love sleeping. No matter relaxing/taking rest etc, only sleeping makes me feel the day is Sunday/holiday.

    @Vinay Thank you

I can identify myself with you herein. In fact, my Sundays are all the more hectic.
Anyways, Wish you happy ( at least better) Sundays ahead!

What’s all this talk about weekends on a Monday?

Usually, I too prefer a relaxed weekend. But sleeping it away is not it ‘coz when you wake up, the weekend is all but over.

Clock ticks away at its pace. It’s for you to find time. To begin with, how about going to sleep early on Saturday?

  6. lazybug Says:

Oh, BTW, I don’t see any difference between what Ramakrishna is suggesting and what Pramodasanthi is asking for. How do you find time for relaxing when you are not able to find time to sleep?

  7. pramodasanthi Says:

@Akhil: Relaxing doesn’t only mean sleeping. Sleeping is one of the ways to get relaxed, which I like to do mostly.

  8. lazybug Says:

I know sleeping is not the only form of relaxing. My point is about finding the time.

  9. pramodasanthi Says:

hm. that is there Akhil :( I could not find time to relax / rest / sleep

  10. Bhamoti Says:

Well Prasanthi …I can very well identify myself with you … while we are battling away with time during all six days of the week … the weekends seem to be over in a jiffy [:(]

even i love to sleep!! … but whether I have time or not to relax, the sundays seem to be gone even before i know …. and there i am on the eve of another long week ahead!! … that’s how it is with most of us [:(]

  11. pramodasanthi Says:

@ Bhamoti: We can fulfill these when we can pass the work which comes to us ;) Bt we cannot do that :(
